Starting Monday, further relaxation of the corona measures will come into force – the obligation to wear masks will also be abolished. Wearing a mask is still possible on a voluntary basis.

No mask obligation in retail stores  – In retail stores, the mask obligation will be dropped. The distance of one metre for people who do not live in the same household continues to apply.

No obligation to wear masks in restaurants and bars –  When entering a restaurant or bar, guests no longer have to wear a mouth and nose protector. Service personnel are still required to wear masks.

Longer opening hours  – Locals may remain open until 1 a.m. instead of 11 p.m.

Not only four people –  The number of people per table is no longer limited. Previously, four adults (who do not live in the same household) plus their underage children were allowed to sit together at one table in the restaurant.

Greater freedom to travel  – Austria will open its borders to 31 European countries starting Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Among them Italy and Croatia. There are no entry requirements such as a mandatory negative corona test or a 14-day quarantine. For the northern Italian region of Lombardy a partial travel warning continues to apply. There are also restrictions for Sweden, Spain, Portugal and Great Britain.

Masks in hospitals and public transport – The obligation to wear masks still applies in the health sector, in public transport and at service providers where the one-metre distance cannot be observed. For example, massage parlors massages or at the hairdresser shops.
